position:
JOB TITLE: Drilling
Workshop Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Drilling Workshop
REPORTS TO: Drilling
Workshop Superintendent
SURBODINATES: Drill
Rig Mechanics, Drill Rig Auto electricians, Drill Rig Assistant Mechanics, RDT
Serviceman and Cleaners
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service, Maintenance and Fault Finding:
- Perform
maintenance, diagnosis and repair on D 65 Blast Hole Drill, +85% Ava
- Properly
document work performed, including parts usage and time worked
- Perform
quality control inspections on repairs and maintenance functions.
- Perform
preventative, daily maintenance and back log repairs as per schedules
- Understanding
of basic AC/DC/PLC electrical circuits and ability to trouble shoot and
conduct circuit analysis
- Applying commercial rigor and discipline to all business
decisions and customer relationships.
- Prepare
timely and concise reports regarding inspections to insure proper steps
are taken to remedy any deficiencies;
- Interact
closely with on-site maintenance lead technician and providing guidance
and training when applicable;
- Absolute
Job card and Maintenance compliance
- Developing and
communicating rigorous and creative maintenance strategies that drive
sustainable value.
- Be
proactive for breakdown counter measures or enhancements that may be
needed and assist in the development of such procedure’s as required;
- Complete
work including installation and commissioning of components (mechanical,
hydraulic and electric/PLC on a daily basis, maintenance schedule or
breakdown and back log work
- Proficient
with electrical test equipment and reading schematics (Hydraulic and
electrical)
Safety:
- Perform
MGC standard housekeeping at all times
- Comply
with Safety, Health and Environmental requirements
- Maintain Safety, health and environment
(SHE) standards at all times
- Adheres
to all safety and environmental considerations.
- Have
a strong commitment to safe working practices.
- Wears
Personal Protective Equipment at all times while in the production
environment.
- Is
alert and observes, corrects, and reports unsafe conditions.
- Follows
operating procedures and complies with all regulatory requirements.
· Drives Safety compliance in all
aspects of duty and team
Reporting
and compliance
· Prepare monthly, weekly and daily reports of tools; and
· Maintain up to date electronic and paper-based records of tools
· Maintain Safety standards
- Perform
MGC standard housekeeping at all times
- Performs
other duties as required and assigned
KEY REQUIREMENTS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND
ABILITIES:
Qualifications:
·
Certificate
or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive (Electrical and mechanical)
with accredited training from Epiroc in both basic and advanced including all
aspects of drills maintenance including RDT
Experience, Skills and
Attributes:
- 10
years of maintenance on Epiroc Drill rigs or like drill.
- Must
have a strong understanding of drilling and blasting equipment, materials
and procedures
- Strong
technical knowledge of RDT practices including safety is required
- Must
be able to lead employees toward achieving individual, team, and company
goals, while maintaining a positive environment within the department.
- Minimum
one years of drill/blast field experience required
- Technical
knowledge of drilling activities including safety is required
- The
ability to help develop and achieve the drill KPI targets
- Possesses
good communication and interpersonal skills
- General
understanding of drilling / mining operations
- Working
knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet,
database.
- Strong
verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to
interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
- Ability
to work independently and also as a member of the management team
- Demonstrates
strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills
- Requires
valid driver’s license
